Recap

Wednesday- Jazzercise
Thursday- Ran 2 miles, only two miles. It hurt, it wasn't fun, it just wasn't my day. Then I used the exercise bike for 20 minutes, that was better.
Friday- Rest day!!
Saturday- Jazzercise
Sunday- 10.5 mile run = 2hrs 30 seconds of running, ok there was a little bit of walking mixed in there. Lots of hills.

Only 1 month until the 1/2 marathon. I'm not loving long distance running right now, I think this will be my 1 and only HM. But we will see. Maybe next week I'll think differently. Looking forward to running on flat ground next weekend too.

Running skirts

Tried out my running skirt today that I bought 4 years ago (and still had the tags on it). It was awesome! I might buy another one if I find one on sale.

Ran 4 point something miles in 42 minutes.

Sunday and Monday

Sunday - I ended up riding the exercise bike for an hour. Not what I really planned, but I got a workout in, that is all that matters.

Monday - Labor day, no work!!! Went to a morning Jazzercise class, it was packed. Great workout with a great teacher. Then tonight I took a 2.2 mile (32 min) walk to drop some mail off at the post office. The weather is perfect. Would have been great running weather, but a walk was nice.

Longest Run Yet

Today I ran over 8.3 miles in 93 point some minutes.
Not too bad, the first 1/2 was much better then the second. The 2nd half was too sunny. Only 1 month until my 1st half marathon.

About 4 hours after my run my stomach started to hurt. I don't get why this happens. I'm fine and then bam it hits me, every long run.

Next weekend I must run 9 miles. Hopefully I can get up a little earlier so it isn't so sunny and warm. :)

Thursday 9/3

4.3 miles in 45 minutes tonight. A little slow, but I ran the same loop twice, so I got in two great hills.

This weekend I plan on running 8 miles or 90 minutes, which ever comes first.

It's official

I mailed my application for the 1/2 marathon today! I'm excited, now I really need to get training! Plus I registered for a 5k in October and December.

First 10k

I ran my first 10K today, it was great! The weather was perfect, the route was flat, I enjoyed looking at all of the old houses, what else could I ask for?! I'm a little sad to see that if I would have run the 5K I would have placed. Oh well, the 10K was a great test for me. I felt great when I was done. I have two bruised toenails, but I don't know if it was from today or what.

Update

Update on my latest workouts.


19 - Jazzercise
22 - SOOOOO hot and humid, 4 slow miles.
23 - Less hot but still humid, 4 1/4 miles = 45 minutes
24 - Jazzercise
27 - Finally nice running weather!!! 4 1/4 miles in 41 minutes!!! Nice!

1st 10k on Sunday! My goal is to finish in any place higher then last! I'm hoping to finish in under 70 minutes.

8/16/09

Ran 3.75 (abt) miles in 40 minutes. Walked abt 1/4 mile of it, so not too bad for it being hot and humid. I'm really done with the humid part. Tried my new running short and I'm not impressed. They bunched up too much. I do better with the knee length shorts. The hand held water bottle is ok. It is better when it isn't sweating, but then the water is warmer then. Ran without music again, I think it is better that way. I NEED to get a long run in soon. 10k in 2 weeks!

Didn't run like I should have.
Ended up riding the exercise bike for an hour.

Bought some running shorts today and a hand held water bottle. If it stops raining, I'll try them out today.

8/13/09

Ran just over 4 miles in 43 minutes today.
Cool weather although a little humid. Ran without the IPod again, I think I like it that way. We will see. I need to do a 6+ mile run this weekend, would like to do 9 miles, again we will see. :)

Interesting find of the day:

Location: Colchester, Connecticut
Length: 7 miles

Rank: #5 of 5 best trail runs in Connecticut
Directions: Travel into the center of colchester ct and find rt. 16 going towards modus and westchester follow 16 all the way to the comstock bridge. When you see it take that right. then park in the lot next to the bridge and then cross the bridge w/bike and you will see a yellow gate. Go past the gate and then go straight and you will begin to go up an uphill so you know that you are on the right trail.

Signed up for my 1st 10k today. It is at the end of the month! I'm excited for it. If all goes well, I'll sign up for a 1/2 marathon in October. :)

Too hot and humid today to run or go to Jazzercise. Rode the exercise bike for 40 minutes instead.

Ran 4.2 miles in 41 minutes.
The weather was perfect this evening, cool and overcast. Loved it!
I didn't wear my IPod, I think I actually do better without it. We will see if that continues to be the trend. I ran my best 5k without it and my longest run ever (8 miles) without it.

8/8/09

Ran 5.5 miles today in an hour. I ended up running at around noon, it was too sunny and I was not running my best. Oh well, I went out and tried, that's all that counts.

I'm still thinking about running a 1/2 marathon. Maybe the Hartford one in October, maybe the Disney Princess one in March.
